Old Town and Wawel Castle
(5 hour tour)

We offer sightseeing of the most important spots of Krakow during the 5 hour tour with a guide.

Krakow, the former country capital, is a spiritual heart of Poland. It's a unique, beautiful city with an amazing history that you can touch in the Old Town. The city centre is embraced by oval-like shape chain of gardens - Planty, designed in the 19th century after tearing down medieval city walls.

We'll begin our tour from the remaining fragments of city fortifications - the Barbican - the masterpiece of medieval military structures, one of the largest and best-preserved fortresses in this part of Europe, built in the 15th century. Its walls are approx. 3 meters thick and are surrounded by more than 3 meters wide moat.

Next we'll walk through the St. Florian gate which is also the part of historical city walls. Walking down the precious Florianska Street we'll reach one of the largest medieval squares in Europe - the Main Market Square (Rynek Glowny). It's an exquisite place with magic atmosphere and original layout, surrounded by splendid historical mansions and townhouses.

In the middle of the Main Square there is the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice). It's an exceptionally charming building with its neo-Gothic arcades, merchant and guild emblems on the walls inside, and armorial bearings of Polish cities. It was originally the main place for trade and commerce and until now you can find and buy there folk style art, amber jewelry and souvenirs.

Next to the Cloth Hall there is the 70 meters high Town Hall Tower and the preciuos Romanesque church of St Adalbert that dates back to the 11th - 12th century.

In one of the corners of the Main Market Square stands St Mary's Basilica. It's famous because of the monumental High Altar - beautiful and unique wooden masterpiece of the Nuremberg master Veit Stoss (Wit Stwosz).

Afterwards we'll see historical buildings of Jagiellonian University: Collegium Maius where Copernicus once studied, Collegium Minus, Collegium Novum and Collegium Iuridicum.

Walking down the Grodzka and Kanonicza Street, which is one of the oldest streets in Krakow and one of the most captivating ancient streets in Europe with its beautiful historical townhouses, we will reach the Wawel Hill. We'll see ravishing arcaded bailey and visit exquisite royal chambers. It's worth seeing the Room Under the Heads, one of the finest royal chambers with beautiful ceiling, and the Senator's Room, the largest chamber where court ceremonies, balls and the Senate meetings were held.

Royal chambers contain an exceptional collection of 16th century Flemish Arras tapestries produced on a special order of the king Sigismund Augustus.

Afterwards we'll visit the Wawel Cathedral and the Royal Tombs where many Polish monarchs and famous Polish people rest in peace. We'll also see the biggest bell in Poland - famous Sigismund Bell.

Our tour will end by the Krakow Dragon's Den on the bank of the Vistula river.
